Welcome

Church Extension - "The Wesley Suite"

Background

It had long been the wish of the Church Council to have toilet and kitchen facilities available on site, instead of having to use the nearby village hall. Earlier proposals only got as far as sketch plans when it became necessary to replace the complete heating system, putting plans for the extension on hold.

The joining together of the Anglican and Methodist Churches in the village meant that the Methodist chapel was no longer needed, and was subsequently sold. The Methodist Church had agreed that the proceeds from the sale could remain in the parish, but could only be used to replace facilities lost when the chapel closed. As the chapel had toilets, a kitchen and a hall, the proposed extension fitted the criteria perfectly.
